R.I.’s first cultural feminist center to open in Providence next year

PROVIDENCE - Rhode Island’s first feminist cultural center, The Alcove, will open at 189 Broadway on Jan. 10. The two-story space aims to provide women and gender-expansive people a place to gather, reconnect and build community in a safe environment.  “I am honored to help bring The Alcove to life,” said Amanda E. Strauss, founding executive director.
