Book Circulation Policy

Borrowing Materials

Who Can Borrow: Borrowing privileges are reserved for current members of The Alcove only.

Loan Period: 14 days

Loan Limit: Up to 3 items per person at a time.

Renewals: One renewal allowed per item if not on hold for another member. Renew in person or via email.

Non-circulating Materials: Certain reference works, rare volumes, and archival items are marked as "In-Library Use Only." These may be viewed in designated areas during open hours.

Returning Materials

Return Locations: Books may only be returned to the Biographical Library Desk at The Alcove during regular hours.

Due Date Reminder: Email reminders are sent 3 days before an item is due and again if an item is late.

Late Returns: The Alcove does not charge overdue fines. If you need more time or face barriers to returning an item, let us know.

Lost/Damaged Items: A book returned more than two months after the due date will be considered lost. If an item is lost, damaged, or returned in an unusable condition, the borrower will be required to pay for the cost of replacement.
